How to Install Mantisbt Bug Tracker On Ubuntu & Windows

Ubuntu 16.04 :-

MantisBT is an open source issue tracker.We will look at installation of Mantis on ubuntu 16.04 OS.
You can download mantis from
This download contains a zip file containg the php code for mantis
Extract the zip file and Copy the directory to /var/www/html/mantisdirectory
sudo unzip mantisbt-2.4.0.zip
mv mantisbt-2.4.0 /var/www/html/mantis

Pre Requisites
mantis requires the mbstring module of php .
Run the following command to install and enable the same
sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-php5
sudo apt-get install php5 libapache2-mod-php5
sudo php5enmod mbstring
sudo apt-get install php5-mysql
sudo apt-get install php5-xcache
Access the url from the webbrowser to initiate the setup
http://localhost/mantis/admin/install.php
Enter the server and database details and click on “Install/Upgrade” button to finish installation
This will do the necessary installation.
To access mantis login page access the url
http://localhost/mantisbt/login_page.php
The defaul admin username and password is administrator and rootrespectively

Window 7 :-

Step1 Download the latest copy from MantisBT’s Home page 

Step2 : Install in Xampp / Wamp Virutal server

Step3 : Extract mantis to your (xampp/wamp) www folder, we’ll assume you have set mantis to run under the local url “mantis.local” hereon

Step 4:  Using phpMyAdmin, create a empty database.

Step 5: Browse http://localhost/mantis.local, you’ll be redirected to: 


                   http://localhost/mantis.local/admin/install.php

Step 6: Now fill in all the data required, as shown below:
            

Step 7: After everything is now setup fine, you can login.
